Day-Wise Itinerary

Your journey begins in Srinagar as you drive towards Kargil through the breathtaking landscapes of Kashmir. The route passes via the stunning meadows of Sonmarg Valley, known for its lush greenery and snow-capped peaks. You will then cross the thrilling Zoji La Pass, one of the most dramatic mountain passes in the region, offering panoramic views of rugged terrain. After descending from Zoji La, the landscape gradually changes into barren mountains as you approach Kargil. Upon arrival, check into your hotel, relax, enjoy dinner, and prepare for the adventures ahead.

After breakfast, you continue your journey towards Leh. Today’s drive is equally scenic as you cross high mountain passes like Fotu La Pass, the highest point on the Srinagar–Leh highway, and Namik La Pass. The changing colors of the mountains and dramatic landscapes make this stretch visually stunning. By afternoon or evening, you will reach Leh. After hotel check-in, the rest of the day is kept light for acclimatization. You may explore the local market or simply relax at your hotel to adjust to the high altitude.

Today is dedicated to exploring the cultural and historical gems of Leh. You will visit the Hall of Fame, a museum maintained by the Indian Army that showcases the history of the region. Seek blessings at Gurudwara Pathar Sahib and experience the curious phenomenon at Magnetic Hill. One of the most beautiful sights of the day is the confluence at Indus Zanskar Sangam where two rivers meet in contrasting colors. Later, visit the serene Shanti Stupa for panoramic sunset views over Leh town. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, embark on an exciting journey to Nubra Valley via the legendary Khardung La Pass, one of the highest motorable roads in the world. Enjoy the breathtaking views from the top before descending into the cold desert valley of Nubra. The valley is famous for its sand dunes and unique double-humped Bactrian camels. After reaching your campsite or hotel, you may enjoy a camel ride in the dunes of Hunder (optional). Spend the evening soaking in the peaceful beauty of Nubra before enjoying dinner and an overnight stay.

Begin your morning with a visit to the ancient Diskit Monastery, known for its massive Maitreya Buddha statue overlooking the valley. Afterward, proceed towards the mesmerizing Pangong Lake. The long drive rewards you with spectacular views as you approach the lake, famous for its ever-changing shades of blue. Upon arrival, check into your lakeside camp or cottage and spend time enjoying the serene environment. Watching the sunset by Pangong Lake is truly a magical experience. Dinner and overnight stay near the lake.

Wake up early to witness the sunrise over Pangong Lake before starting your journey back to Leh. You will cross Chang La Pass, another high-altitude mountain pass offering magnificent views. En route, visit the historic Shey Palace and the grand Thiksey Monastery, which resembles the Potala Palace of Tibet. By evening, you will reach Leh. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay at your hotel.

Today you begin your return journey towards Himachal Pradesh. The drive takes you across multiple high mountain passes including Taglang La Pass, Lachulung La Pass, Nakee La Pass, and Baralacha La Pass. This stretch of the Leh–Manali highway is one of the most scenic and adventurous routes in the Himalayas. By evening, you will arrive at Jispa, a peaceful village located along the Bhaga River. Dinner and overnight stay at campsite/hotel.

After breakfast, continue your drive towards Manali. As you descend from the high-altitude desert terrain into the greener valleys of Himachal Pradesh, you will notice a dramatic change in scenery.
